Hello, I'm Liya
I am the Founder and Lead Tutor at Learners' Nest.
My passion for teaching began long before I started my own learning centre. Over the years I realised that many students were not struggling because they lacked ability. They simply needed concepts explained differently, and someone who believed in them.
Seeing students grow from feeling uncertain and overwhelmed to becoming confident, independent learners has been one of the most rewarding parts of my teaching journey.
With this vision in mind, I founded Learners' Nest in 2021 to provide students with personalised online Mathematics and Physics tuition in a supportive and structured learning environment.

Beginning my teaching career
I began my teaching journey in 2015, working at established tuition centres where I taught students from diverse academic backgrounds and learning abilities.
Those early years let me gain real classroom experience, refine my techniques, and understand the different challenges students face when learning Mathematics and Physics. It was during this time that I developed a structured approach centred on conceptual understanding, guided practice and building confidence.
Each student I taught reinforced my belief that with the right guidance, patience and encouragement, every learner has the potential to succeed.
Founding Learners' Nest
In 2021 I founded Learners' Nest with a clear vision, to provide students with a personalised and engaging online learning experience that goes beyond traditional tutoring.
Drawing on years of teaching experience, I created a structured learning system focused on helping students understand concepts deeply, develop strong problem-solving skills, and gain the confidence to tackle challenging questions independently.
Today, Learners' Nest supports students following the Cambridge, IB Diploma Programme, CBSE and Edexcel curricula. Every lesson is planned to inspire curiosity, encourage active learning, and help students achieve their personal best.

Learning should be meaningful
Many students believe Mathematics and Physics are difficult because they have been taught to memorise methods rather than understand concepts.
When students understand why something works, they become more confident, they ask better questions, and they can apply their knowledge to unfamiliar problems.
Rather than simply preparing students for examinations, I aim to help them become independent thinkers who enjoy learning and keep growing beyond the classroom.

Education is constantly evolving, and I believe teachers should keep learning too. I regularly update my teaching knowledge, explore new learning strategies, and stay familiar with curriculum developments so my students receive relevant, effective and engaging lessons.
